If your child doesn’t talk much, they’re still telling you
If your child doesn’t talk, or doesn’t talk much, it can feel like they can’t tell you anything.
Talking is only one way to communicate. A hand gesture. A look on their face. A picture they hand you. Each of those is your child telling you something.
Which way works best is different for every child, so work it out with your child’s team or a speech and language therapist, not on your own.
This week, notice the ways your child already tells you what they want. Write down two, and bring them to that conversation.
